Book Signing with Tommie Vaughn

Tommie Vaughn will be signing copies of her new book This Rock in My Heart on Sunday July 8th, from 12-2 p.m.
This Rock in My Heart is the musical journey of one woman who in following her dream discovers her true self, and in conquering her own inner fears, breaks down a self-inflicted wall to reveal the powerful artist within her.

They say only time will heal a broken heart but Frankie Spencer proves that theory wrong. Music was her guide, and a job at a legendary Hollywood recording studio was her gateway. Bravely fighting her way out of a suffocating relationship, Frankie began working at Cherokee Studios with a cast of characters fit for a royal tabloid court. From the amazon blonde drummer to the son of a rock legend, she danced, pranced, and sang with rock stars and strippers alike. Every strum of the guitar was like a beat of her heart, bringing her back from the edge into a whole new world of mayhem, romance and stuff “books are made of”. Frankie stepped into the Hollywood dream and made it her own.

The first volume of the Frankie Spencer Series, This Rock in My Heart, will lead you through the start of her rock and roll awakening and may even inspire a journey of your own.

Book Signing with Anne Willan

Anne Willan will be signing copies of her fascinating new book The Cookbook Library on Saturday June 16th from 1 - 3 p.m.

From the spiced sauces of medieval times to the massive roasts and ragoƻts of Louis XIV's court to elegant eighteenth-century chilled desserts, The Cookbook Library draws from renowned cookbook author Anne Willan's and her husband Mark Cherniavsky's antiquarian cookbook library to guide readers through four centuries of European and early American cuisine.

As the authors taste their way through the centuries, describing how each cookbook reflects its time, Willan illuminates culinary crosscurrents among the cuisines of England, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. A deeply personal labor of love, The Cookbook Library traces the history of the recipe and includes some of their favorites.

"A wonderfully researched and beautifully illustrated work, "The Cookbook Library" is at once an engaging read and an invaluable resource for anyone passionate about food and food history."
--Los Angeles Times Book Review

"For years or decades to come, this beautiful volume is going to be an indispensable resource for readers and researchers in love with the history of cookbooks. . . . Belongs in any real cookbook lover's library." --Zester Daily

Sarah Maizes will be signing copies of On My Way to the Bath on Sunday June 10th from 12 - 2 p.m.

Livi would rather do anything (and we mean anything!) than take a bath. After all, bathtime can be so dull and it’s so much better to slither like a snake, tumble like a gymnast, plot to take over the world, or prowl and pounce like a jungle cat instead. Luckily, Livi eventually discovers that it’s fun to play pretend in the bathtub, too.

The first picture book from comedian and creator of, Sarah Maizes, On My Way to the Bath might just show reluctant bathers that bathtime doesn’t have to be a chore. All you need is plenty of soap, a favorite washcloth and a big imagination. Michael Paraskevas’ wacky and wild illustrations infuse this fun bathtime adventure with playfulness and energy.
